Welcome to The Tart Tart, my not-so-tart take on food, writing, and photography. I decided to start up this sucker after repeated nagging from Chris, my fiance, who cannot understand why the sight of a farmer’s market would send me into ecstatic convulsions (okay, total overstatement. I can be quite the histrionic at times). With that said, my interests, though chiefly in food, also span fashion, design, literature, and photography. So don’t mind the seemingly non sequitur odds and ends I toss in posts at times.

Well, I am finally all set for Christmas.  I finished up my wrapping last night and my baking today.  I have one more half day of work tomorrow and then I am off for a day and a half. Yipee!!  I hope the kids let us sleep in a little on Christmas morning.  I remember how excited I used to get as a kid. And I remember how my three brothers and I used to pester our parents until they woke up so we could open out presents.  However, now as a parent I see that perhaps we should have let them sleep.  Lol.

That’s ok, the best part of Christmas is seeing those little faces light up knowing that Santa came and left them special gifts under the tree.  It makes us, as parents, feel like kids again ourselves.  I hope you all enjoy the holidays however you may celebrate.  Here are some last minute ideas for holiday treats if you have not finished baking yet.  Just click on the picture for the link to the recipe.

For the Dark Chocolate Cake just use the recipe for the Dark Chocolate Cupcakes and make them as mini Bundt cakes and make an egg nog glaze by combining 1 cup powdered sugar with 3 tablespoons egg nog and pour it over the cakes with a spoon and let it drip over the sides.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!
